Vickie Pat-Sowe (VPS) Award


The Vickie Pat-Sowe (VPS) Award is presented to women who are dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls, who are active participants in organizations that address the concerns of women and girls, demonstrate dedicated leadership among women's organization(s), and/or have founded or run programs that focus on women and girls.  The award is named in memory of Vickie Pat-Sowe who passed away from cancer in 2014.

Dr. Carol Labor is a recognized bi-lingual professional with advocacy, leadership, program design & implementation and strategic planning experience. Dr. Labor was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and moved to the United States at the age of 5.
